Harriet found out about Mental Health Mates through reading Bryony’s book, Mad Girl. It inspired her to contact MHM and set up her own Walk.
Harriet is currently running First Aid training Zoom sessions for Mental Health Mates Walk Leaders.
Favourite place to walk? I’m really lucky to live near some amazing National Parks. I love Foremark Reservoir, Dovedale, and Calke Abbey. I do also love walking around Covent Garden.
Last book you read? Frank Bruno’s, Let Me Be Frank. A real insight into the stigma behind male Mental Health and his battle to raise more awareness.
Top tip for looking after your Mental Health? Make time for yourself and find your own way of self care that you enjoy – a bath, a book, a walk – whatever it is, just take at least 10 minutes a day.
Best season of the year? Summer. The sun, the warmth, I just love Summer.
Words that stick with you? I have this saying that I use anytime I feel low: Life is a rollercoaster full of ups and downs, we must learn to scream through the peaks, hold hands through the depths, laugh through the loops, and enjoy every twist and turn.
