Contacted by a fellow Walk Leader, Peter was asked if he would be interested in supporting Ross-on-Wye’s Mental Health Mates. Having written his own blog detailing his experiences of mental health and walking, Peter felt that becoming a Walk Leader would be a good fit.

Favourite place to walk?
Cats Back to Hay Bluff on the border between Wales and Herefordshire. Extrodinary views that crowds have yet to find. Don’t tell anyone!
Last book you read?
I am close to finishing The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist after several aborted attempts over the years. Lots of life lessons in it and still a reflection of our society.
Top tip for looking after your mental health?
Keep things simple, slow down, get outside and don’t be afraid to say no.
Best season of the year?
Easily Autumn. The nearby Forest of Dean is extraordinary at that time of year.
Words that stick with you?
“Above the clouds the sky is always blue.” Wise words from a saintly French nun called Thérèse of Liseux.
